Since 2006, FOI group have been conducting a blood donation camp every month. On average around 30-40 donors participate in the monthly event, which is organized at Latifa Hospital, Dubai.
We have organized 12 different teams in different areas in Dubai which include Karama, Bur Dubai, Satwa, Quasais, Al Quoz, Gardens, Greens, DIP, Dera, Al Shab, International city and Jebel Ali. Each area gets a rotation once in a year
Apart from the monthly blood donation we also organize events to commemorate special Holidays such as Indian Republic day, Indian Independence day and the UAE national day where the event tends to gather over 200 donors on average. In addition, our womens volunteers have started organizning a special blood donation camp during Women’s Day, wherein all donors are women.
The event was inaugurated by the Ex. Consulate General of India (HE Sanjay Verma) by donating blood. Mega blood donation camps are almost always inaugurated by predominant personalities from the community. To name a few are: Ex. Consulate General of India Sanjay Verma, Founder and the head of Danube group Mr. Rizwan Sajan, Mr. Siddhartha Balachandran, Mr.K. Kumar ,Dr.Tiju Thomas Consul from Indan Consulate ,Mr. Anurag Bhushan / Ms.Neeta Bhushan Ms. Nadia Abdulla Kalanthar, Head of marketing, Blood Donation Center, Latifa hospital
During the holy month of Ramadan we regularly support the emergency requirements, as through our experience we have seen that the demand for blood becomes high due to the shortage of donors. We are always in the call list of Latifa Hospital Blood bank, whenever there is a request for arranging blood during emergency situations. This is inclusive of vast database of special blood groups.
