DESCRIPTION:PRERANA UTSAV 2016 \nAs every year\, The Prerana Utsav 2016 was held on the 16th Dec\, organized by the Consulate General of India\, Dubai\, under its initiative PRERANA which is under Culture wing (A support to families with differently abled individuals) \nIt was an all-day event with a games and activities session in the first half.  There were a number of games and activities\, where all individuals with disabilities and their caregivers enthusiastically participated to the best of their abilities. The games were specially planned keeping in mind the needs and interests of the focused group. Since Christmas is round the corner most of the games and activities had Christmas as the underlying theme. The games hall was echoing the laughter and cheer of the participants enthusiastically attempting all the games. The onlookers and volunteers encouraged them to do their best. Every participant was indeed a winner and won a several gifts and goodies. \nPost lunch session took off briskly with Sajitha commencing with a welcome speech and walking the audience through the various activities and events that Prerana had organized in 2016.  Prerana’ s patron\,  Mrs Neeta Bushanji\,  touched the right chord with a simple yet effective address that reaffirmed the hope and confidence of the special needs community. \nThe event then continued with exemplary performances by individuals with disabilities. Our super heroes enthralled the audience with their multi-faceted ability\, be it be singing\, playing keyboard\, telling a story\, fancy dress or dancing. The audience were moved to tears while witnessing the display of talents and were spell bound all through the 2 hours of performances. \nThe Programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Raji and in all it was a very fruitful and rejuvenating day for each of the participants\, parents\, guests\, volunteers and the Prerana Committee.
